Our forest bathing fundraiser was a great success! A group of Shadybrook members and friends recently had the opportunity to participate in a forest bathing experience and it was truly amazing. The practice of forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-yoku, is a Japanese concept that involves immersing yourself in nature and using all of your senses to connect with the natural world.
During our experience, we were able to slow down and really take in all of the sights, sounds, and smells. The experience created a feeling of relaxation and peacefulness. The practice of forest bathing has been shown to have numerous health benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, improving mood, and boosting the immune system.
Thank you to Mary Alice for hosting the fundraiser and facilitating the forest bathing experience. Mary Alice generously donated all program fees back to Shadybrook. Thanks to Mary Alice and program participants, we were able to raise $375 to support Shadybrook and its mission!
